St Albans South Signal Box is Open today from 2-5pm Free Entry (but your donations always welcomed!) Every visitor gets a free souvenir 'Edmundson' card ticket. Working signals in the garden - demonstrations of how the box worked before closure - museum of signalling and other railway items. Light refreshments available. Sit in the garden and watch the train passing on the Midland main line. We are in Ridgmont Road, off Victoria Street, close to St Albans City Station and many local bus routes. Full location details at http://www.sigbox.co.uk and also information on the box, its history and restoration. Garden and ground floor accessible to wheelchairs, as it the toilet, but we regret the nature of this listed building does not allow wheelchair access to the first floor. Visit this award-winning signal box, the largest Midland Railway box in preservation, and the only such box preserved where it worked next to a still busy main line and open to the public.
