My new Nikon D5100 saves movies in a format (MOV) that the bundled Windows Movie maker doesn't like, so I finally splashed out on Adobe Premier Elements and this video is the result.

Brilliant scenery David - the flat valley between the huge mountains is so surreal to me, living in such a wide open country as Australia.

Very nice David. Good quality picture.

I bought a Canon 7d earlier this year as I decided it was time to get a DSLR. I haven't used the film feature yet. I did try when I was home. They were demolishing Methil power station chimney and I was all set to film it. Unfortunately I didn't read the instruction book well enough as the button I was pressing was not the one I needed. Missed out on catching the moment.

cheers

Neil

Hi Neil,

I expect like me, you'll find it a useful addition. I had the chance to do a back to back comparison with my Sony digicam during the summer. It mainly a sound recording of a still background but the Nikon just edged it on picture quality - sound was about the same.

Now I wish I could take snaps as while filming too wink.gif

I would imagine that the SLR's will have better lenses than the Digicams. Having said that my Sony one said it hs Carl Zeis lenses.

I've still to use mine to find out. Son's birthday party coming up so will try it out then.

cheers

Neil
