Hi folks can anyone help me please? I have a number of airfix tank wagons built by my father in law ,he is quite ill now
and i would like to keep these ,i suppose in a way in his memory but the wheels on these ugh i would like to know which
wheels would be a suitable replacement . Bachmann are the right size but the axles are far too thick any one got any ideas

They should be 12mm dia on the tyre. I think you have a choice of spoked or 3 hole disc, although the latter seem to be more common (based a quick look at Paul Bartlett's site). Try Markits: http://www.btinternet.com/~markits/index.htm

I have re-wheeled several of these with Hornby or Bachmann wheels and inserting pinpoint bearings. From memory, I also had to enlarge the holes to take the bearings but it's not too difficult to do.

To enlarge the holes, this tool would be useful:

It's hard to get bearing holes square with the wagon assembled.
