Hi Everyone,

Here's a video of a Class 03 with my custom sound project fitted. It has gear changes and coasting. Notice that the speaker and decoder are completely hiddden - even if you could pick it up nothing could be seen.

My 'How to' is in this month's Hornby Magazine, issue 61.

Kind regards,

Paul

That's another project to add to the list of things to do - thanks for posting the link thumbsup.gif

Very nice. In reverse you could hear the squeal of something - wheels or axles.

Thanks Paul

I assume this is the same as I got off Digitrains and fitted to an 03 a few months ago, sounds just the same. Its one of my favorat sound jobs, I has great control between sound and speed. Well done

Hi

Another great sound set, My bank account cannot keep up with these great new projects.

How about a 43, that will really scar my Bank manager.

Doug,

Thanks. Quite right, that's the flange squeal (activated by F9) mentioned in the note that appears in the video. Of course, ideally I would have played it on points crossings or a curve, but when straight track is all you have available.............

I like to use such things subtly so they blend into a 'whole' rather than each thing standing out, but it's simple with Zimo to increase the volume of just a single sound if you wish, just using a DCC controller.

Kind regards,

Paul

Les,

Thank you. I am glad you are pleased with it, that makes it all the more worthwhile for me.

Yes, you're quite correct. I completed the project last September or October, but have held back on YT vids due to the need to coincide with Hornby Magazine publishing schedules.

Just as a matter of interest, do you run yours with air releases on gear change (CV265 = 101) or without those sounds? (CV265 = 102)

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi all

Very nice, BUT, I still think sound has a long way to go! They seem to be too dear when you think of what you get for your pennies, until the price drops dramatically I will stick with Mylocosound, so there ph34r.gif

Hi Paul, is this the latest 03 release, I believe the older models were split chassis and not really suitable for sound fitting, I have one in a box never been used bought about 4 years ago, and as I am now all dcc sound have not done anything with it, do you think this could be converted relatively easily, paul
