While I appreciate the comments about accuracy, I like it.
Oh ! that it was N-scale .

It looks like quite a nice little locomotive & I suspect that most buyers will simply enjoy the model & run it, not being too bothered about it's accuracy.

On any industrial type layout it should look quite at home.

a quick search around the net revelas these links (originating from a site that we don't mention).

Looks like it is a model of a genuine Sharp Stewart loco (perhaps not the correct one - but then again, perhaps it is?)

Looks like something with good possibilities for a distillery siding or the docks. The problem with it is that great box under the tank surrounding the firebox. Does anyone know if any of it can be surgically removed to make it look a bit more conventional? The flanges are surely much deeper than necessary, so the wheels would need to be changed, but it's still very attractive.

Such a shame that it's just a repaint of a continental HO scale loco - even if it was built in the UK, it was for a Spanish railway and I expect that the model will be just too small to use on OO layouts without some modification.

I'm sure there would be sufficient interest in accurate small 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 industrial locos - just think how many 'Smokey Joe' Pug locos Hornby have produced over the years !

It definitely must be Euro HO scale.
Surely no UK manufacturer would dare produce those ridiculous pizza-cutter wheel flanges these days, would they?
Bachmann certainly doesn't on its American profile range or its excellent Chinese profile range. Their customers would never accept that level of low quality production.
Does Hornby still use wheels designed in the 1950s?
Pity, because it is quite a nice looking little model otherwise.

I think OnTracks need to check their search engine . . . I didn't know that Hall class locos were also used as trams!

Very interesting piece of research.
Which leads me to ask: is the fact that it was originally a RENFE loco mean that its H0 representation of 1668 mm gauge matches it (with its pizza cutter flanges) to 00 gauge ?
My H0 Jouef and Lilput stuff runs on my 00 gauge for "Continental" escape days - it just all looks skinny against a G2A.

A mystified LF&T
