Graham Farish News Update Options

Bachmann Europe PLC has today announced that the tooling for both Graham Farish Class 04 0-6-0 diesel shunter and the Class 60 locomotive has now been completed. Both locomotives now move to the next stage which will be the application of liveries and will enter production later this year.

Announced at The London Toy Fair in January 2006, the Class 04 diesel shunting locomotive will provide a useful addition to the range of locomotives in the Graham Farish fleet. A total of 140 locomotives to a Drewry design were built by the Vulcan Foundry and Robert, Stephenson & Hawthorn between 1952 and 1962. Widespread closure of lines and the move away from wagonload working to block trains for freight, resulted in much of the work being lost. The first locomotive was withdrawn in 1968, the last in 1972. Many went on to be sold to industrial users at home and in Italy. Eighteen examples have been preserved for use on heritage railways. This model has NEM coupling pockets.

The N gauge Class 57 locomotive has now been passed for production and deliveries should be received in late 2006.



The Class 60 locomotive has been eagerly awaited but was delayed by tooling damage during the testing process and has to be completely retooled. 100 locomotives were built between June 1989 and December 1992. After privatisation they passed to EWS, although some have recently been stored. The Class 60 model has NEM coupling pockets and is “DCC Friendly”.



Decorated examples of the Mark 1 Pullman Cars have now been received for approval. These coaches are finely moulded and are the first Farish coaches not to be printed onto clear sides.

A new HFA wagon with high sides has also been received for approval.



Colin Allbright, Design Engineer for Graham Farish said “the Class 66 was the first Bachmann designed locomotive and set new standards. The forthcoming Class 57, 60 and 04 diesel shunter, together with our new coaches and wagons are pushing the horizons even further. In the same way that our Branchline range has improved the standards of ready to run OO models, the new Farish products are doing the same for N gauge”.

All will be on display at the Bachmann stand attending the ‘N’ Gauge Show being held at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre near Leamington Spa on 9th / 10th September.

Finally a model of the class 60 its only been 5 years!!
Mk1 pullman cars look superb. May have to get a rake of these.
