OK here is the cctv system in action, you can see the locos under the upper level and this helps immensely picture quality not fantastic but it does the job, will add more cameras soon as amplifier will take 4 cameras.

I need to install some kind of CCTV system for my storage area. Did you consider using web cams or was the CCTV kit such a good price that it wasn't worth the effort?

Sorry to be late back, just dark under there need to be infrared cams and I cannot get any more, probably web cams a better way to go depending upon computer use really.

Thanks for the response.

I'm using white LED strip for the main layout lighting, so I was thinking of putting a few inches in the fiddle yard area to provide the light required.

dwb, I have a lamp which shines through the access gap and helps a bit but not ideal, my father has done the same as you and seems happy with the lights but then again his technology level sort of ran out with real steam locos and nothing invented after 11th August 1968 gets anywhere near his railway.
