Image Description
I have included this shot to show where the photos of 80104 were taken from.

The castle was besieged twice during the civil war. It fell when the second siege ended due to treachery. Parliament decreed that the castle should be destroyed which explains its state today. If you look closely you can see that the left tower of the inner gatehouse is considerably lower than its counterpart on the right. The castle is now in the care of the National Trust who are conducting a restoration program in the keep.
