This has been constructed from an old Mopok kit [white-metal, acetate, plastic and wood] - probably 40 years old at least - and, because of the poor quality of the castings, many of which were unusable, it has been heavily kit-bashed. Nearly complete, it just awaits some touching up, some very light weathering here and there and steps fitted to various parts of the underframe.

I shall post a link to the build blog, explaining for any who are interested the adaptations and dodges necessary, in due course.

The prototype was constructed in 1961, using an ex-GWR Hawksworth Third corridor coach as the donor vehicle. No longer in use, it is [or was] in preservation somewhere.

It appears to be at Carnforth - see http://www.cs.rhrp.org.uk/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=84

Thanks for that John. Apparently, it's under cover now but still looking decrepit. A shame, it's an important coach and is also the first Hawksworth coach built.
