Hi Andrian, funny you should mention the "Lord of the Rails" BR187, it was never on my radar as there are so many other locos that I need to find first but last month I got to photograph this locomotive at Mainz Hbf and I've been looking for one ever since but it would appear that it was a popular model as there are none to be found.

Hi Pantograf,

Nice to see the Gimli variant of the Traxx AC3 owned by LTE. Apparently LTE now have a third AC3 in their fleet with Legolas and a wagon with a log load. I wonder if they add more AC3s to their fleet they will continue the Tolkien theme.

Cheers

Hello Andrian, I haven't seen the movie so I'm not familiar with the characters but I would say that Piko picked the best image of the 3 that adorn the full size BR187s' sides. The model itself is right up to the latest Piko quality standards in and out. I'm very happy with it.

Hi Pantograf,

It is definetely the more colourful one so far compared to the Gandalf one. Here is a link to LTE's third one which I believe was delivered in March this year.

Cheers

Hi Andrian, that's funny, I've been following Railcolor for about 2 years now and occasionally contribute as well. It's a great resource to stay current on all European and some North American locomotive news and trends.

I'd bought the older paint scheme SBB pano coaches some time ago but since I've seen so many of these newer Gotthard ones running around Austria and Switzerland, I had to get at least one. It will look great with one of my OBB EuroCity Express trains.

Hi Pantograf,

Yes the SBB panorama coaches with the Gotthard logo have been of interest to me lately too in N (Minitrix have released a three coach set recently and there will be a single coach to be released at a later date this year). Funnily enough I'd like to get the older colour scheme of the panorama coaches along with the ordinary Apm, Bpm by Minitrix and a Wrm so that I can put together the Transalpin train EC162/163 from around 2004 to 2010; unfortunately I have to track these down on Ebay since they have been OOP (out of print) for some time. I have the panorama Apm, ordinary Apm and Bpm in the more recent vibrant SBB EC colour scheme.

Cheers

Hi all, after a long pause it's time to start adding some recently acquired models.

To celebrate 100 years of independence of Czech(o)Slovakia in 2018, CD Cargo covered their then newest Vectron in a wrap commemorating this occasion.

To continue the parade of Vectrons, here's another one. This time it's the unique livery of TX Logistik 193 554-3 with the 1/1 captured at Brenner station.

And yet another Vectron. This time it's the Roco DB Cargo version with the prototype captured again at Brenner.

Next is a slight departure from all those Vectrons I've been posting lately. It's my recent acquisition of the SBB dining car. It used to be available as part of a 3-car set but then it was also released as a single car.

Vectron locomotive 193 813-3 built by Siemens Mobility in 2014 and delivered to Railpool in the same year has an interesting history considering its brief service life. After spending time with many different European operators like WLC, SETG, RTB Cargo, EP Cargo, HSL Logistik, Lokomotion, EVB and TX Logistik, it ended up with BTE BahnTouristikExpress in 2018 and in 2019 it received the bright green Flixtrain livery for the Köln – Hamburg route. The BTE (RDC) - Flixmobility partnership came to an end after a disagreement in April of 2020 so most likely, this locomotive was stripped of its Flixtrain wrap and it might be back in white now.
