Ridge tiles
I have been customising the metcalf kits using evergreen plastic angle painted the appropriate colour and cut up like ridge tiles.
A bit fiddly but well worth it.Paint the slight gaps when fitted. the results are fantastic.

The size of angle depends on the length of roof. Station roof 1.5mm angle goods shed 2mm -2.5mm.

I did think of gluing to strips together but a lot of work. Ridge tiles here in the uk are @ different angles to the roof so the angle solution will be ok.

If you would like me to post a photo of work in progress.

Hi

One not listed are the CT Electronic decoders. These are great for the non can motor steamers as they can be adjusted to get rid of the buzzing / noise of the motor.
Have a look at the 2mm darkest essex group they did a test.
I personally would not touch a digitrax decoder wires fall off just a load of trouble.
so my choice in my locos are the Bachman 6 pin and ct.

Regards

Hi

I have a similar problem with a class 20. After speaking with bob at brlines he suggested that i needed to repace the bushes that support the carden shafts. This is what causes the shafts to float. Also on mine the gears were shot as would not run very well in either direction.

Give BRLInes a call they are very helpful. (No connection just a refreshing change to speak to a very polite and helpful man on the phone.
