Hi can anyone help please
I have just bought a starter set for my son and the track isn't fitting together smoothly and I didn't want to force the pieces together.
There is a slight edge when they are joined together and I have power but the loco is derailing am I doing something wrong
You are more likely to get some suggestions by asking this question in a forum such as https://www.modelrailforum.com/forums/index.php?showforum=8
If the rails are not in alignment then you are likely to get derailments. It is some time since I used individual track pieces but my memory of them is that they almost always work well when new, fresh out of the box. There will be some resistance when joining pieces together as there needs to be some abrasion to give a good electrical contact.
Problems with fishplates usually arise from untidy storage. The fishplates stick out and can easily get caught and bent, especially if the track is just "thrown" into a box.
