I have just seen a "new" trackside sign.
It's a black and white square diamond the same size as the long established square red-and-white and blue-and-white signs - but turned 45 degrees to make it a diamond - with effectively four diamonds on it.
I hope that description makes sense!
The sign was on the inside face of a river bridge parapet wall but didn't appear to relate to the bridge itself as far as I could tell. However, one of the four tracks had what looked like a boundary marker on a sleeper - so? Perhaps the black and white diamonds sign applies to a boundary? I don't know...

Thanks

I understand these are survey markers, used to check movement/non-movement of structures.
