Hi ,
I had an accident with the above engine (Tender Driven) of which I damaged the valve gear and front left driving wheel.

As the engine is period 1992 and Hornby later changed from Tender too Engine drive.

Service Sheet 155 showed wheels as a separate item, but current service sheet shows complete set, with cog on drive.

As I am unsure of the size of the wheel is there any member that can advice of a similar size wheel from another engine that can be purchased as a single item?

Many thanks,

Peter Spares have one complete set of driving wheels for a tender drive 28xx

a shown on service sheets dating from 2000
and 2002

The current model is a complete new tooling introduced in 2010, not just a change from tender drive to loco drive.

Many thanks butler-Henderson great information.

Ordered tonight.

Thank You
Should make the model look better with those toned down wheels compared to the bright tyres on the originals. Swop the lot and paint the pony truck wheels to match as best as possible.

Hi to all Members.

My saga continues on the repair of my Hornby 2800.

It is old and is on Service Sheet 155 which has now been replaced with 236.

I had damaged the driving wheels and valve gear so I ordered material from Service Sheet 236.

The old 155 (and currently mine) had slotted screws to fix to the wheels. I received the new valve gear on Service Sheet 236 and they are nut headed screws.

My old fingers can not fit that Is there a tool that holds this screw in place and helps fitting?
Nut spinner of the appropriate size, do you have a vernier caliper to measure the nut head? If not get a pack of nut spinners with say 2,2.5 and 3mm in it which I suspect should cover the size needed. A google search should reveal suppliers

butler-henderson, you are a fountain of knowledge. Thank you it is 2mm and I will get a set. My fingers also thank you.
