According to Wikipedia then on 14 July 2006:

The verdict in the Italian Football Match Fixing Scandal was delivered- Juventus, Lazio and Fiorentina were all relegated. AC Milan were spared relegation.
Probably wasn't that! Also Hezbollah declares war on Israel.
Probably wasn't that either! That leaves only the fact that is was Bastille Day in France...

Actually, I have often wondered the same thing!

Also - note how the number of registered users is creeping up to 1500...Even if you allow for natural wastage, do we conclude that MRF is thriving very nicely, thank you?

Older hands care to comment?
I certainly can't think of anything of note that happened on that day - someone please enlighten us!

Regards

John

I think it's improved as it matures.

As regards the users, I reckon it was summer holidays, the kids were out playing, the wife at the shops and us left at home.

I would go along with that Neil, The whole thing seems to be taking a much broader appeal and there certainly appears to be a shift away from purely UK modelling and railways in general, which, in my opinion must be a good thing.

The forum is growing nicely.

One of the reasons for large number of visitors is search engine activity. If say Google comes along and starts indexing the pages and sees that there is too much content for one search bot to handle, it will call more in for help. It can happen that there are quite a few bots on the scene. On that particular day.

We have a public holiday on the 14th and I'm usually outside with a cold beer minding the BBQ

The reason I was curious is that in our forum in Turkey we have abt 700 registered users and an average of 20 hits to the forum by members / day.
However, on the 14th of March we had hit of 132 eventually locking up the forum. The reason was simple, we were on national TV as a Modelrailroad club displaying our club layout .

Thought something like this happened here.

By the way,I'd like to add a couple of words abt this forum too.I am really glad to be here. Its one of the best forums regarding a broader appeal as John correctly puts it and in a mature/sophisticated way.

Thanks

Baykal
