1980s/90s Buses in the West Country in OO

Do any of the diecast bus makers such as EFE, Original Omnibus etc. make OO scale buses that would be appropriate for 1980s-90s Western Region? (ideally around Exeter/Okehampton/Dartmoor way). Who would have operated the services at the time?

Hi

EFE do versions of the Bristol VR, which was used as the standard double decker by NBC from around 1976. They remained in service with many operators until well into the 90's.

Hope this is of some help.

mid-80's, into the 90' saw the demise of the NAtional Bus Company constituents......as both privatisation and de-regulation took a hold.

the national companies in that area would have been Western National and Devon General....AFAIK.

which would be fine up to the mid 80's.

from then on we get into the world of Stagecoach, etc, Firstbus, etc...and I am not too sure who took over what.

Western National was very much a Bristol Omnibus operator......yes the VR was common...but so were Bristol saloons as well....also Leyland Nationals and National 2's...

Minibuses would be all over Dartmoor.....
You could also look at the Creative Master Northcord rang - they have some modern buses in First Group and Stagecoach colours, some suited to West Country locations.

EFE have done some post-privatisation liveries on their Bristol and ex-London DMS models.

Well I must admit to completely forgetting the trusty National (in all it's variations).
