The 24TH UCKFIELD MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITION

Organised by the Uckfield Model Railway Club.

Our 2008 Uckfield Model Railway Exhibition coincides with the 150th Anniversary celebrations of the opening of the Lewes & Uckfield Railway. The Saturday of the show falls exactly on the anniversary of the first passenger train which ran on Monday 18th October 1858. The Exhibition will once again be featuring a selection of some of the best quality layouts around. There will be full trade support as well as Demonstration & Engineering stands. Licensed Restaurant within the Civic Centre will be open throughout the weekend.

Highlights of the show include Pempoul - Reseau Breton by Gordon & Maggie Gravett, Pudley Lane by David Bickerton and Stoney Lane Depot by Grahame Hedges. Also in attendance will be Flintfield, the P4 GER layout by Vincent de Bode, which will be making one of its rare journey's to the UK from the Netherlands. Modeller and author Iain Rice will also be assisting with the manning of the Club's demonstration stand.

Chatham Dock - 7mm/ft scale 32mm gauge (0) - Standard gauge industrial line by the Chatham & District MRC
Nurgatory Basin - 7mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (0-16.5) - small industrial scene by Greg Dodsworth

Stroudley Green - 1:64 scale 0.884in gauge (S) - LSWR terminus by Maurice Hopper
Flintfield - 4mm/ft scale 18.83mm gauge (P4) - Pre gouping GER terminus by Vincent de Bode
Ferring - 4mm/ft scale 18.83mm gauge (P4) - Large pre grouping LBSCR terminus by Michael Ball
Alkham - 4mm/ft scale 18.2mm gauge (EM) - BR Southern ex LCDR by Ian Hollis
Dulwich Common - 4mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (00) - BR NSE South London terminus by the Tonbridge MRC
Pudley Lane - 4mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (00) - GWR backwater by David Bickerton
Rowfant Grange - 4mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (00) - LBSCR through station by Ian White
Lower Peak Wharf - 4mm/ft scale 9mm gauge (00-9) - small narrow gauge terminus by John Bruce
Mason's Bridge Yard - 3.5mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (H0) - American switching layout by Chris Chinery
Flockburgh - 3mm/ft scale 14.2mm gauge - BR Eastern in the Borders by Brian Parker
Stoney Lane Depot - 1:148 scale 9mm gauge (British N) - BR NSE South London depot by Grahame Hedges
Aldeburgh - 1:220 scale 6.5mm gauge (Z) - LNER terminus by Brian Yallop

Public access to the Civic Centre is via either the free High Street car park (Civic Approach), or the Tesco Superstore. The venue is also only three minutes walk away from both the railway and bus stations.
