Thr Hornby Battle of Britain model of 34067, early crest, carries the station crests for RAF Tangmere on the cab sheets below the number.

Now I know that the loco did carry these crests but I have been unable to locate any photos of it with the original tender and the early crest (a la model) I have located evidence however with the rebuilt tender and the late crest.

My query is this - does anyone know where and when these crests were added, I hasten to add that I know why.

Regards

QUOTE (jclements @ 27 Apr 2008, 21:12) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>According to Richard Derry in The Book of The West Country and Battle of Britain Pacifics "No 34067 acquired a small badge and motto (mounted on cab sides) in 1955" (page 73).

thanks for that, Unfortunately the book quoted is one I do not have, so I'd better keep my eyes open for a copy.
