I thought you guys might like to have a look at some pics I took at my local Engineering Society's Open Day.

The over worked staff take a well earned break!

Can you tell us which Society and it's location, please?
Thanks for the pictures,

Just come across an entry in Ian Allan's "Minature Railways" (2nd Edition published in 2000) which tells me that this is the Coleraine and District Society of Model Engineers, based at Turnakibbock. It is a mixed 5inch/7.25inch gauge track, 150yards in length and circular.

Regards,
John Webb
Sorry for not replying, John - I am an infrequent visitor.

The track must have been extended a good deal since then (2000), as I would estimate it is currently about a 1/4 mile in length and winds around a fair bit. Some of it is dual gauge, as you mention - the 'circle' mentioned in the Ian Allan book. But the extension is all single gauge. I didn't measure it, so can't be sure what it actually is, though I THINK it is probably 7".
I might well take another look this coming July, the holiday period, and I'll check it out then.

Thanks, Tropi. The Ian Allan book is inevitably out of date. I'll have to see if they've got a new edition planned.
