I was trawling the tinternet for some good reference pictures and came across this site which relates the the fixing of the severn valley railway after the floods.
Although the damage caused was a real shame some of the pictures on this site give really good points of reference for scenery ideas for either a modern or historic railway.
There is a cracking picture of an 08 with some wagons inside what looks like a modern built shed on the line but the flooring in the building is a good reference for anyone wanting to re-create the effect.

Some years ago my stepfather who worked in a signal box here was awaiting a train passing when a local man came up to the barrier, hanging out of the window he started a conversation ..... the train went through and up went the barriers along wth the guys dog he had tied to it .... after a few tense minutes the barrer came back down with a very startled dog.
