Since I haven't been here in five years I thought I would show some progress on the layout. The last time I posted photos it was all bare wood and I had just started laying track.

The upper mountain line has been turned into an HOm Rhätische Bahn line, the Arosa spur. This line features a laser cut Faller Langwies station wood kit that I searched long and hard for. It had been out of production for ten years when I found it in the Netherlands last year. Detail items are from Swiss Rail. Catenary has yet to be placed, but it is all bought and waiting for installation. Catenary details specific to RhB are also from Swiss Rail.

An additional 8-track staging yard has also been added that wasn't in the original plan, but I ran out of room for trains so I had to expand. Three tracks come off of the close side of the layout and an additional five branch off from the other side of the layout.

Hi Mike What a wonderful layout you have, I know only to well how long these things take Is it all HOm Gauge. I will look in on your YouTube video's When I have a bit of time.
Enjoy your layout.

Thank you very much. It's not all HOm, the lower two levels are all standard HO gauge. In fact, the upper line was also standard HO in the beginning until the narrow gauge bug got me.

I laid a third rail at 12mm HOm gauge to operate a dual gauge line. Unfortunately, I installed the third rail on the wrong side of the sleepers and commercial dual gauge turnouts all have the third rail on the other side. This presented a problem when I installed the Langwies station as there was not enough room on the track to install a change-over track(s).

The HOm Arosa Bahn line is now all HOm even though some standard gauge is still present. The HO rail had to be cut away near the points to allow the diverging leg of the points to get in and out of the station. Another problem is that some standard gauge locomotives can't clear the catenary wire or the registration arms because the wire is lower on the RhB.
