A new begining on my raised gauge one garden railway

The railway itself is several years old having spent most of its time in 16mm narrow gauge style. And while many of the buildings will be retained, some new(vintage) ones will appear in due time. I have been smitten with the railway of the late Peter Strange and the Duck End videos on youtube. The wonderful mix of classic gauge one tinplate and a garden channels my youth of tinplate Lionel in std gauge and 0 gauge. While I didnt grow up in the golden years of tinplate, I enjoyed it thru my teens and early 20's when I worked as a repair tech at a local shop that carried all vintage Lionel and other brands of trains. Now the buildings Peter used, mostly vintage Bassett Lowke and scratchbuilt are not really easily found or shipped to the states, I can do my own style there in the spirit of what he was doing. The first pieces are a dirty/stained Lionel 124 station which I will find someone to make me a new station name board that says "Duck End West" to replace "Lionel City" Since the states are West of the UK, I added that to the name. I also have a glass canopy coming to keep travelers out of the rain, something they wish they had today in our dreary weather. My first vintage BL engine, a live steam Midland Railway Compound will arrive sometime this coming week. I hope to add another Midland/LMS engine soon that is either functional CW or one that has a failed CW drive that I can modify to modern can motor with onboard batteries fitted(my railway is all dead rail so battery, CW or live steam only).
