At last, it's here.

For those who have been following the discussion on various forums on why three cylinder sound could not be done (despite it being available on German locos for at least four years), we now have three cylinder UK sound for an A4. This is stated to be not a generic three cylinder sound as the sound has come from 60009 Union of South Africa. I have ordered mine already.

£89.50 inc spk for OO & £140.00 inc spk for O, 1.

"For those who said it can't be done." Try this for 3 Cylinders !

Available NOW. This is NOT a generic project. ALL sounds used have come from UNION of SOUTH AFRICA.

South West Digital

I have been waiting for this moment for years. I can't wait till it arrives.

Cool

Now there's a reason to get back in the loft.

Sharp eyed members will know that my avatar is 60009 from its time on the SVR

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder (SWBO things I am stunning!) but the A4 is just a tad ugly is it not!

I would refer the honourable gentleman to the first clause of his post.
My avatar makes my opinion clear

I'm not so keen on the streamlined Duchesses, even if they were actually aerodynamically better and more effective at lifting smoke from the driver's view. <Runs for cover>

Sorry John, but I really do think it is one of the most beautiful steam engines ever made.

David, much the same the streamlined Duchess is stunning especially with the blue and silver paint job.

For those who are interested in how the sound decoder sounds, I have done a series of short film clips, or rather one long one cut into four as I wasn't aware that there was a limit of 100mb when I initially did this,so you can get an idea of what this decoder sounds like. Be warned this is my first ever attempt at doing this and I am not Steven Speilberg.

After testing these I have found that only a third of clip two has loaded onto photobucket. I will get this sorted although will take hours for the clip to load up. Sorry.

Ok that's it all sorted now.

Maybe not Spielberg ........ but superb to see you have got it all sorted and settled in the A4 i really enjoyed watching the clips several times, the part of the A4 steaming past the slower goods train especially.

Now i hope South west digital can come up with the same in N gauge

Many thanks for sharing it with us.

Sorry again here John i'm with Neil in his thoughts on A4's ...........
Excellent clips Neils & thanks for taking the time to show us - that's got to be the best steam sound I've heard to date.

Although really a Southern man that's fallen for things black & red I have to say there is something about the A4's...........

I'll tell you what, both the video and sound qualities are very very good in those clips, Neil.

I'll have to get you to show me what you used and how you readied the clips so I can do some of mine.

Excellent clips.
Thanks for taking the trouble to post them. Time to place an order with SWD I think.

Excellent Neil,

I think Mr S has some serious competition!

Really good sound and really captures the A4 well.

Thanks for taking the time to put it up for us.

Regards
Thanks for the kind comments guys. Now I have figured out how to do this I may start to do this more often with reviews and the like.

Jeff, I'll show you what I did next time you're round here. The main downside is the time it takes to upload one of these, around 3 -4 hours I found!

All in all I thought it was a great sound decoder and very well done. So full marks to SWD.
