Airbrush weathering

6809 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Graham_Muz
The article in this months Hornby Magazine about weathering was all good, but I am looking to weather my locos using an airbrush. What I would like to know is whether anyone can suggest some good colours/paint range for rust, dirt, and grime, or any other possible colours that might be successful? Also anyone know of any good colour photo reference online or books I can use a guide?

Hi Rossi,

I use simple good old paint brushes with water based acrylic paints. Airbrushing diesels and lectric loco's might be feasible but when it comes to steamers might be a problem unless you are very good in the airbrush application technique.

I also use the Vallejo range, first class paints for weathering.
