I never had one of the 70s/80s Hornby tender drive locos, never fancied them and did'nt like the idea of the motor in the tender. I have heard from several sources that they were poor.

*** Actually, having had it analysed, the black stuff is almost all copper oxide. Nickel silvers version of "rust".
