Unfortunately Bachmann soldered power pick wires are so taut on the cl158, that continual movement of the bogies especially over curves, finally severe the soldered wires.
My age has finally caught up with me, when eye sight and a steady hand are no longer. Models being made from plastics, respond drastically to a erratic held hot soldering iron.
Any assistance will be most appreciated.

Too far away for me to help (I live within sight of what used to be the Hornby Factory) I'm afraid.

You could possibly try Stan at MacKay Models, although specialising in DCC he's a really helpful guy. 0141 887 9766

Anyone else on the forum live near doubleOO to help by any chance !

I decided to contact Bachmann Service Department direct, requesting that my plight be considered.
Bachmann have replied, that I send the cl158 for their inspection and repair as necessary.
Bachmann standard service charge + parts appear to be very reasonable and I am certainly taking up their offer.
Thanks again to all who took interest in my request for help.
