My loco is EWS maroon so perhaps the colour of the plastic has no bearing on it's strength. I bought this model second-hand and thought that the problem may have been caused by rough handling by the previous owner, but I see that this is now doubtful. It's a pity that such a silly fault appears to be present in an otherwise very good and popular model.
