Bachmann DCC ready Jubilee

Having just purchased the DCC fitted jubilee 45562 Alberta I am experiencing an odd problem. It wont run at all using the Lenz 90 but will run using the 100, however the 100 needs to be set high for it to work ok. I am guessing its the decoder but wondered if i need to reset some of the values any ideas?. All the other stock runs fine.

Try and determine the make of decoder.

Reading CV8 will tell you the Manufacturer ID.

Then reset the decoder accordingly.

Lenz : CV8 should be 99. To reset, enter a value of 33 in CV8.
Hornby: To reset the R8215 Decoder, enter a value of 8 in CV8.
NCE: CV8 should be 11. To reset, enter a value of 2 in CV30.
Bachmann: CV8 should be 101. To reset, enter a value of 33 in CV8.
TCS: CV8 should be 153. To reset, enter a value of 2 in CV8.

Then power off and then on again.

Thanks Doug will try that this week and will let you know how I get on. The loco is supplied with a factory fitted decoder.

Eventually got around to trying your suggestion Doug, it certainly made the loco run better on the LH100 but still no joy with the 90. So i changed the decoder and it runs a treat, hope the Jub with sound performs better when it arrives. Thanks.
I note that in the Bachmann ad in this months Model Rail that the Jubilee is now fitted with a 21 pin decoder socket.

Hmmm. The website isn't listing any socket type for the "bare" models at present. The Patriots which are listed with a delivery date of Oct/Nov are marked as DCC-8. You'd have thought if all future production was being switched over that these would be changed over too. I think this is something to watch "with interest".

Finally solved the problem of the Jubilee not working after contacting Lenz direct. Had to set LH90 to 0000 then press key 4 twenty [20] times it now works a treat.
