Pieman, good advice- I have taped over the exposed pins on the reciever just to be on the safe side.

The direction and range of the IR connection seems good- havent really stretched it yet though so Ill keep you all informed on that one.

The LCD display is a little more difficult to read and use than I would have liked- dot-matrix would have been better I think.

Overall, the instructions are clear and easy to use. Ive chipped 2 locos thus far as a new-comer to DCC and had no problems that werent of my own making!

Ive got bachmann and TCS decoders to try out, both with back-EMF so im going to play around with the CVs this weekend and have a trial session.

Have a good one!

Yeah, I guess. Everything has a price. I think for 80 quid Dynamis is a real contender in the DCC control market for folk with "normal" sized layouts. My latest is going to be a dumbell which will have a run of approx 6m end-to-end with only me ever ooperating it and , therefore, only a need for a couple of engines moving (maybe 3 if I consist), so Dynamis will do everything I want including a decent level of sound capability etc.
