Bachmann Europe PLC is sponsoring the Deltic Preservation Society's event to commemorate the passing of Doncaster's Crimpsal Works. This will see the six remaining production Deltic locomotives assembled at Barrow Hill to pay tribute to the works where they were overhauled, which is soon to be demolished. The last time all six Deltics appeared together was in 1982, shortly after withdrawal from main line service. Due to the unavailability of the Doncaster venue, the event is being staged at the Barrow Hill Engine Shed Society's site near Chesterfield.
Held on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August, the locomotives will be joined by the Deltic Preservation Society's Deltic simulator, trade stands and the well known 'Stoke Bank' model railway layout on which model Deltic locomotives will be operating. Each day, three of the Deltic locomotives will be in operation on the running line. The Bachmann Roadshow will also be in attendance, where the latest models will be on show and staff available to answer your questions.
