Bachmann Warship 39-050

This has been in the 2006, 2007 and 2008 catalogues but I haven't seen one in any shop or even in stock on mail order/internet.

Did I miss the boat or hasn't it been released?

Has anyone got one? Seen one?

The current delivery information on the Bachmann website is "On Order". When there is no date, it tends to me at least 3 or 4 months. You can see for yourself here. You need to scroll down a bit.

The newly revamped website has a search facility which is how I located the OO Warship by typing in Warship. Once I has waded through the press releases for the Graham Farish version, I came to the OO one.

The bachmann website now has both Warships listed as available in Oct/Nov so release is getting nearer - but I'm not holding my breath.

Luckily for me I kept breathing !!!

Well if you believe the Bachmann website the long awaited Warships are now due in the next 60 days !! The 3 year wait might be over - however I won't be cheering or holding my breath until they are actually available ......

There's a review of 32-050DC in the May 2010 issue of Hornby Magazine so it can't be that far away.

I've got my eyes peeled for the sound fitted Jubilee which is reviewed in the same issue

Hi David,

How did they both rank in the review?? (The warship & Jubilee)

The Jubilee is considered to be well worth the steep RRP - £228.30 - "The addition of sound has taken the already superb looking Bachmann Jubilee to another level".

The Warship was also well received. It now has lights and is fitted with a 21 pin decoder socket.

David
Just received an email from Hattons to advise that two Warships, the two new models Champion and Royal Naval Reserve are heading down under!
Have the warships been released can`t see them at any of the `box shifters` websites

Prolly pre-orders shipped first. For me the maroon one which is DCC fitted is showing in stock on Hattons site. The blue is still indicating on order although their email advises both now in stock. That's as of yesterday.

Looks like the initial batch was just enough to cover pre-orders with a few left over!! Both Hattons and Rails have them back on pre-order.

Dave
I had mine on pre-order with Hattons, and it arrived on Saturday.

If first impressions are anything to go by, the wait was worth it (and the weight!!!). The model I got was the DCC-fitted D809.

I've not test-run it totally yet, but straight out of the box - a challenge in itself! - it run very sweetly on my DCC test track, with exceptional slow running. It has both directional lights AND separately controlled interior cab lights.

I've a DC test track which I'll probably run very shortly. If there's anything untoward, I'll report back. As I say, first impressions are very good.
