Ballasting a Maerklin C track

As you all know Maerklins C&K tracks are all ready ballasted, specially the C tracks which come in a dark color.

The rails look awkward when laid on a layout, not to mention the odd middle studs.

Below are some photo's of a well done reballastig of these rails from the same chap's Maerklin layout that I have posted earlier.

Seems promising of what a little paint and ballast can do in camouflaging the studs.

cheers

The ones in the ears!?

But, on a more serious note you can get Marklin C-track without the studs, it's put out under the Trix banner and is very good quality.

If I had the room I would be running C Track, OHL and DCC and never look back.

It is very nice but if your locos are operating on AC current then you will have some problems.
