Barret kits?

748 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  dwb
Hi,Im building or attempting to build a Barret 'Lady' loco.
Its the first kit ive built from this company and while the parts are well made, bagged, with a good delivery sheet I have to say the instructions are left wanting?
It seems they use a generic instruction sheet for a lot of the locos so when I want to compare say,the cylinder mountings its completely different! Obviously after paying almost £3000 for a kit I dont want to ruin it?
Shame really, I may just sell it on.....

From a quick look around the Barrett website I'm guessing this is a Gauge 1 loco?
If so I suggest you check your area for a club for Gauge 1 or Gauge 3 live steam or a model engineering club which has members running Gauge 1 steam. There will probably be a fair number of people there who will have opinions in any case ;).

That's understandable but if you were to find a club which had a G1 track where you could run it, it might be worth joining. Asking questions face to face is easier than posts on a forum?
