This documentary programme was being promoted on the front page of the BBC website this morning. It was first broadcast on BBC 2 in 1969. I enjoyed it, I think other members might too. I was struck by how little has changed in forty years when you dig beneath the outer appearance of the vehicles.
There is some railway footage; those who think 4472 is over exposed may need to look away, but it is interesting footage in that it shows the double tender arrangement which on this occasion both have "LNER" on the side. There's also a couple of class 52s.
Overall it's in the style of the British Transport Film unit.
