I have decided to sell most of my old railway models. They consist of approximately 20 locos, 15 coaches and 60 wagons.

All the locos are boxed as are some of the wagons & some of the coaches & all date from the 1980's. All are in very good condition.

The question is simple. I am an Ebay virgin & I want the best price. I have no sellers history. I do have access to a camera. What is the best way to sell them?

I guess the locos will be single lots but what about the wagons. If I sell them singly they are not worth much, I have to pay an ebay listing cost for each & what I charge for postage becomes very significant.

What should I charge for postage & how (recorded delivery etc) do I send stuff? Do I have to send overseas at the same postage cost as the UK?

Advise please.

Thanks Spongebob.

Now I just need to work out what reserve to set. Too low & I risk giving things away but looking at the ebay items too high a reserves seems to be putting people off bidding altogether even if the bid price would eventually go above the higher reserve.

QUOTE (spongebob @ 17 Apr 2006, 11:21) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Ebays response was that a signinficantly higher percentage of items sell without reserve than those with one. .......

Well there is a real shock - approaching 100% I wouldn't be surprised!

I will look on the community forum. I am afraid that it had not occured to me that there was one.
