Better screw link couplings for locos

Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for better screw link couplings for locos?

I'd like to replace the horribly chunky plastic couplings that come with the normal buffer beam accessories sachet of my Bachmann locos.

They don't need to be functional - just a lot finer as on my Hornby Q1 for instance.

Many thanks again,

Walter

I have several locomotives fitted with screw link couplings (cosmetic) and according to height of buffers, can in certain circumstances foul the points and derail the locomotives.

I can confirm that you can get quite good metallic screw couplings to fit on the front of your locos. There are two types, the functional ones that are slightly overscale, but definitely would not foul the track, and there are some cosmetic ones as well. They look much better than the plastic ones. Sometimes the hanging link was lifted up onto the hook.
