Eureka Models have released the first test shots of their new Beyer-Garratt 4-8-4+4-8-4 articulated steam loco. The model is based around the prototype which operated in Australia for many years. The Eureka Models HO scale AD60 will be offered with an optional sound card. The loco will be of particular interest to LNER modellers as LNER operated the Beyer-Garratt loco "9999" on heavy freight duties in areas of Britain with steep gradients and whilst the Beyer-Garratt is available in kit form in the UK, the new model from Eureka Models will be the first ready to run example produced.

Sound equiped models include a factory fitted DCC chip and the model, including sound effects, will operate with both DCC and standard 12v DC. Non sound equiped models will be DCC ready. The model has dual motors (of course!), NMRA wheel profiles Kadee compatible couplers and includes over 120 factory applied detail parts.

RRP's are expected to be around A$850 or about £360 at current exchange rates. The sound kit and chip will be an additional A$99 or about £45.

Eureka Models are a model manufacturer specialising in Australian outline HO scale locomotives and rolling stock. For more information about this superb new model, a history of the operations of Beyer-Garratt locomotives in Australia, and information about Eureka Models, click on the link below:-
