Yes I had a tram layout but I used Corgi Portsmouth cars cut down and modified to the varieties common across the UK sadly a bit over scale but I had a lot of fun with them at the time.

As to track I used Hartel I even went to Wurzburg to buy it but it now is dead, Tillig is rather good as it is stainless steel but rather expensive, I will buy some more one day when the likes of Jeremy 'unt stop taxing me - a pensioner too!

This picture shows a Portsmouth car cut down to be a 'bathing van' in Leeds terms and very odd they look, the track here is railway track into which I have added granite set sheets by Metcalf, generally the tramway operator had to maintain the road 18inches beyond the outside of the track rails - a very costly requirement.

Excellent, most anybody can plug and play a ready to run train, a tram not so much, but I really like what you did here. kudos.
Two stations but we will do only one in full, some seaside next to the trams, a pier, the tower , the illuminations, there will be jumps as the whole stretch is too long, I may even do the football club, at the second we have a big project about to come off first but I’m not letting the cat out of the bag until it’s a done deal

Now that looks like an interesting project - not that I need any more! I did look to see if I could put trams within my Newark/Grantham area layout but given the year is 1962 it was a no go. Maybe a second smaller layout ....Given I will be in Thornton-Cleveleys, just north of Blackpool next week, a camera might be a good idea.

Off topic Thornton cleveys, mmmm one of the best dessert places I have ever visited, hope Covid did not kill them off, not to mention Blackpool used to have a fish and chip shop that did shark fish and chips then of course near the little windmill in Blackpool the homemade icecream umm Notiannis (or simila name)
But yes if you take any pictures of Blackpool, I would be interested. I have some of the pleasure beach which I will reference, the other half plans to model a setting sun.
So seaside trams pleasure beach tower in distance and pier and sun setting over the lot :) a a short run for the smaller station.

I feel some research coming on. Good job I am driving over and not on a well known airline - they might charge for extra weight on the return.

Hi,
In relation to both trams and cakes ..... worked on a project in Geneva some years ago now, and used there incredible tram system each day -

.... this used to provide a great and very punctual link from the City Centre and main railway station to the project, a short journey outside town; along with to and from the station for links to and from the airport. All in all a very well integrated travel hub of planes, trains and trams.
A further bonus to Geneva being the food including cakes / deserts and chocolate, which was Always available 🤣 (* sorry no great pics like Jaz’s ones above).
Cheers for now Norm
