Whilst reading the current copy of Steam Railways about the moving of Peppercorn A2 Blue Peter down to Barrow Hill, It struck me that this loco shouls be restored to full operation with mainline access, what a photo it would make of her passing at speed Tornado

Is anyone here a member of the NELPG which are the custodians appointed to look after her, it would be interesting to hear if it has ever been a possiblity, maybe 5305 could co it after 'Cromwell' is finished, they certainly do a great job on all the ohers they look after if NELPG are to busy

Naturally, with 90mph derogation, "Tornado" would be the one at speed!

Seriously, it would be wonderful during the A1s first main line life to get the big four together - A1, A2, A3 and A4(s?)...

Perchance to dream?

Its a nice thought and certainly one worth dreaming about, In theory it should be possible as Scotsman is being restored/rebuilt again, there is certainly an A4 available, 532 should get her ticket back, and Tornado is progressing well. As long as all parties got their timing synchronised it would certainly pull in the crowds.

It is thought that overhauling Blue Peter would cost in excess of £500k, plus there is the small matter of it not being owned by the NELPG and requiring the permission of the Drury family to carry out the overhaul.
