Hi All,

I have noticed a blueing on one of my point blades and along the length of the moving rail, is there an explination for it as the point is new, the blueing looks like the heat pattern on motorbike exhausts.

***Has it been installed on the layout? If it hapenned after installation, its possible its had a long term partial short and become hot.
If its new out of the box, the blade may simply have missed a post-forming cleanup which would clean up the surface before assembly.
Either way I doubt it will be a problem providing its OK in all other respects.

Hi

The point is installed on the layout ......

Richard ..... i was thinking possibly it could be a short to cause the blueing but i know for sure the little running over it has not caused a short so it sounds like it down to manufacturing somehwhere ..... it runs well on all aspects so some weathering or the rails will cover the discolouration.

Many thanks for both of your replies.
