Recently I have obtained a nice BR 9 Heavy Freight numbered 92166
Hornby R550 (model was produced in 1973). Even the Hornby manul doesn't tell a name.

I was told it is a black prince. But it is actually not.
Black Prince is 92203.

Does anyone know the actual name of 92166 and the history
of the real loco? Where was its base?
Has it survived today?

I have searched around and didn't get any luck.

Very very interesting!! Indeed.

Thank you both very much indeed!

I was after an Evening Start and ended up with this one.
But it was amazing that this one found its way to me because
it (the model itself not the actual loco) is exactly as old as me :)

It is a bit pity that BR didn't give 92166 a proper name.
I am going to name it by myself ;-) I am going to order a pair of etched
nameplates with my own name for the nice loco since both of us share
a same year of birth :)
