G'day guys, I'm building a DJH model of a BR/LNER A-2. Some of these locos were built with front end throttles, steam control valve built into the superheater header instead of in the dome, and some without. I have a couple of pictures in BRILL of 60526 " Sugar Palm", 60532 " Bluer Peter" showing the external throttle lever rodding but not of the stuffing box on the throttle valve itself. Does anyone have a decent right side shot or even a 3/4quarter shot that shows the throttle rodding, fulcrum point and stuffing box they would be kind enough to share. If not I'm going to have to pick a differnent loco to model.

Thanks in advance

I may have some pictures I'll see what i can find.
Thanks Kodiak. I already had visited them but they don't show in great enough detail what I'm after.

~The best place to look would be power of the A2's or the yeadons book. RCTS 2A might also hide the answer. I'm afraid I'm not so technical, but I do have the books, so if you could tell me the period you're modelling and what a stuffing box looks like and where it is (or post a link to a pciture or something) I can have a check for you myself.
Ozzie21,
I 've found some photo's of Blue Peter. Can I send them to you? Ie. Email
Not sure of exactly when the front end throttle was fitted. I know Blue Peter and Sugar palm had them. The stuffing box is the gland packing chamber where the shaft of the throttle valve projects through the casing of the loco. it would be on the right hand side forward where the cover of the superheater header is. Thanks for looking.
