I've been railway modelling since the early '60's starting with the Triang Princess set (I still have her!).

I went through the usual stages of adolesence, marriage, mortgages and children, with a dabble into N a few years ago, but took the plunge back to OO when SWMBO agreed to the purchase of a new shed in 2007. She missed the smallprint which granted planning permission for a new railway!!

So thats where we now start if I've got this picture business sorted out [URL=http://img827.imageshack.us/i/dscf0562o.jpg/][IMG]

Here are a few general images to see if it all works. If it does I'll post a few more. Basic plan is low level through , Y junction feeding to upper terminus.

Let me know what you think.
Lower Level through station area in early days

Upper Level Terminus early stages

Lower Level after bit more work

Farm in corner, Cake Mills to right of mainline with coalmine at upper level to rear

QUOTE (Shedman @ 21 Oct 2010, 22:02) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>...Enjoy the modelling, and remember- if you drop the soldering iron don't try and catch it!! Guess who did

Been there, done that, lovely smell
. Note to self NEVER use those cheap 'stamped' stands which come with the iron, always invest in a proper stand!

Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated - but reports of lack of progress on the layout are entirely accurate!!

It's 2 years since my last post, and apart from adding to the loco stud, and some coaching stock, not a lot has happened.Very lazy modelling!! I'm blaming work, decorating and a foray into the world of aquariums!!

Limited progress has taken place on the upper level involving some buildings (Superquick courtesy of a pressie from big sis), and the construction of a scalescene station building. Platforms are semi finished and an overall canopy is partly completed also.

Hoping that I've now kicked myself into action again.

Some plans for the future may include adding a lower level to put in additional storage tracks/fiddle yard, which may incorporate an external return loop.

Just trying to remember how to add photo's. Seems to have worked!!

I really like some of the features of your layout besides the viaduct and bridge. The warehouse in the background must have been many hours of work and it looks brilliant.

Very nice layout John! the diorama modelling is excellent. Welcome back from your sabbatical!

Cheers - Pat
Hi John,

Your layout looks great lots of hard work there, you must have deserved your time off. But really look forward to things progressing further now that it seems the bug is back. Particularly like the waterside / narrow boat scene outside of the brewery; amongst many others if truth be known lol !

Cheers,

Norm

Thanks for the welcome back folks!

I've not been totally idle, just v...e...r...y slow!

The pics show a rake of Ratio ex LNWR corridors I started 12 months ago. Just finished 'em and added some passengers. Hauled by Jinty which was repainted and liveried to LMS.

This next shot is Duchess at Carlisle set Xmas 2011 pressie from SWMBO!

Off to the shed tonite to get some work done on Station Canopy. Got the CD's ready!!

Hi John,

Like the latest pics, & the use of the trees along the road ege infront of the retaining wall - nice detail. Also the road bridge / tunnel.

Hope the CD's did the trick & lots of progress made. Its the radio & sport in my loft LOL !

Cheers,

Norm
Loving the pics John. Particularly love the Duchess!

I particularly like the Jinty caught against the limestone cutting and the bridge abutment - very S & D - near Radstock perhaps?

LF&T

PS [edit] if I were in the DE's department I would be winging on about having those leylandi out at the foot of the retaining wall because of what they are doing to 'my' foundations.

Well, Here it is -- MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Since my last post have been progressing work on station buildings, platforms and overall roof, plus leds onto buffer stops and other lighting. As usual a few hiccups on the way but seem to be getting there!

No work til after New Year so plan is to get the track area painted and ballasted with the platform/buildings all in situ.

Here's hoping that the big man brings you what you want!!

Finally I hope no-ones badly affected by the flooding. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all
