Hi all,iwant to paint the safety valve covers on a GWR loco,is there a realy brigh brass or copper paint on the market.

Hi Bob,
One of my many other modelling projects id building a 1/100 scale HMS Victory
A company called Caldercraft make a range of "Admiralty Paints"
I've used the Copper #AP9126W and found it very good, they also do one called Brass/Gold but haven't tried that.
Guess it depends on how "bright " you want it

On GWR locos, safety valve covers were brass (if they weren't painted) and chimney caps were copper (if fitted).

Personally, I've used standard Humbrol paints for these. Applying a bit of weathering afterwards hides a multitude of sins.
