We will be there with the trade stand only this year (SL was there last year).

Nikki - do you still want the War Loco's book - I found it yesterday & could take it with us ?
I am planning to go on Friday.

I went last year, and it is one show my wife enjoys as it is so diverse.

Also gives us the chance of a train ride. Brighton is terrible for parking.

A good job you are going on the Friday.

No trains between Three Bridges and Brighton on both the Saturday and Sunday!!!!!!!

Where did you hide it this time?

Yes, we are lucky this week. We had no trains in our area for the whole of last week-end.

BUT NO DALEKS!

Very dissapointed...............

At least I picked up some bargains uncluding the Hornby First Scotrail Caledonian Sleeper train for only £60.

Many other people expressed their dismay, but a number of people did say there were some.

Did seem to be very busy (don't know how the numbers were compared to last year) but sale were very, very poor - it was not just us either - we had a good position just by one of the entranceways & people were just not leaving with many carrier bags.

Still, meeting Mr & Mrs DWB, Nikki, Dinwiddy & others made up for it a little. It's always nice to see forum members face to face.

Dave (BRITHO) bought one or two road vehicles & I bought a VTG wagon & a Gauge 1 penguin.

It was an interesting show and worth the hour it took to get down to the front from the A27 forty minutes before kick off at the Withdean stadium. Then we had a healthy mile plus walk from parking just beyond the Volks Electric railway station at Black Rock by Brighton Marina.

Highlights of the show, apart from meeting Brian and Dave, were the tanks, the London Underground layout and learning that one of the live steam gauge one operators was a sprightly 97 years young!! I picked up an EFE Leeds Corporation tram. I've no idea if it's suitable for the mid 50's but it's Leeds and I know my dad will be fascinated by it.

There was a lovely sunset and then chips on the front before walking back to the car for the trip home.

Nice to know we were one of the highlights, personally I was impressed by HMS Hood - made of LEGO!

How did I forget that! 20 foot long and almost 3 foot wide. It looked like it was scaled so that "standard" Lego men were the regulation size...

Indeed it was, additionally one of the guys was saying their next project is the Bismark - not sure if he was being serious though!
