Central and western European diesels and electrics

Hello everybody, I've been following this forum for a few months now and while I find most of the topics interesting, the general time period being discussed predates my era of interest. I own 3 steam locos and I really don't see myself adding any more. As the title says, I like diesels, electrics and passenger trains from the '6o's to the most modern ones and I can't seem to get enough of double-deckers (Doppelstockwagen). I have a G-gauge layout in the basement so my HO and HOm collection is for display only which allows me to buy nondigital or sound equipped locos in DC and AC (I do have the Marklin digital control box).

This is one of my recent acquisitions:

Roco - Diesel loco CD 751 - Bardotka (AC)

I do like that livery very much. The loco I will be ordering tomorrow will not be a million miles away from it

Which Vectron are you getting, Piko or Roco? My next Vectron will be the bright red OBB or SBB from Roco, whichever comes out first.

That's a nice one and one I had considered as well but I need so many other ones... like the recently released Taurus "Polizei" since I took pics and video of it last year in Innsbruck. Today I photographed the new CD Vectron in Dresden so I'm ready for the model.

Well, I said I wasn't going to buy the MRCE Vectron but seeing it up close changed my mind. The wrap is replicated perfectly and the colors are so vivid, how could anyone resist. While I was at it, I also bought the RegioJet and Lokomotion Vectrons , all from Roco with sound plus the 2 NightJet and RegioJet coaches, another CD Cargo Vectron and a BR118 with sound from Piko, ICE T set from Rivarossi, ICE 3 set from Piko and many other passenger cars from Tillig (another trip to the factory in Sebnitz).... I've been busy.
Ye Gods Pantograph...if I made that spend it would take me nearly a year to recover!. But very pleased for you, the Vectron locos could be a collection in themselves!

You are correct on the MRCE livery/wrap, it is quite something and with it including Munich, it was a special reason for buying it. It has now arrived and is one of the star locos in the fleet now. Cheers
Hi Reddo, you're right about the Vectron collection, I'm at 9 right now so to change the scenery a bit, I picked up the Brenner Taurus and the MRCE BR 189, both with sound from Roco and some more cars today. That should.be it til the OBB and SBB Vectrons come out. There are way too many great models coming out lately, it's hard to keep up.
Indeed - a group photo one day would be really cool. I also looked at Google images for that MRCE Vectron and some have it connected with the green SBB version which I also have from Piko :) https://www.google.com/search?q=mrce+vectro...K1KPHOGc7Oeo

The only other one I have is this [url="https://www.reynaulds.com/products/Trix/22094.aspx"]https://www.reynaulds.com/products/Trix/22094.aspx://https://www.google.com/search?q=mrc...Trix/22094.aspx
so I am very envious of your collection

It just needs the grey buffer beam removing and painting black (what went through their minds relasing it like that?) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=vectron+1...UoMKmhcneTU3CM:

Hi Reddo, a group Vectron shot around a turntable would be nice but first I need to replace the Fleischmann one that I sold many years ago. I had that Trix MRCE Vectron in my hands a few times and always ended up buying something else, it's a nice model but now with the OBB, SBB and CD versions coming out from Roco and Piko, it just got dropped down the list yet again. I guess the positive side to this latest round of spending is that I don't buy any steam locos that would cost a lot more than some Vectrons and Tauruses...

Here's the beautiful, iconic and majestic (from up close) DR BR 118 from Piko

Greetings, here is one of my recent acquisitions, the beautifully decorated Lokomotion Vectron celebrating 150 years of the Brenner railway.

I totally agree and the only thing that would make it better would be seeing the 1/1 up close. I had an opportunity to go for a cab ride in the CD Cargo Vectron and got some interior pics.

Hello, it's been a while since anything new was posted to this forum so here's one of my new Vectrons. This time it's a model of the new CD (Czech Railways) BR193 locomotive used on international EuroCity express trains between Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. Again, the road number on the model matches the number on the 1/1.

Greetings, here's another update and another Vectron. This time it's the MS OBB version by Piko. The model, especially the roof detail is much improved over the earlier Vectrons from this manufacturer, I guess competition is good for something. This being the MS version intended to be used all over Europe including Italy, the model, just like the prototype has 3 different pantographs.

Hi Pantograf,

Super model of the Vectron. Out of interest has anyone got the Piko LTE BR187 "Lord of The Rails"? Fleischmann have released recently both models of the Ã-BB Vectron and the LTE in N. The LTE BR187 has an unusual livery which stands out from the rest, which I think would look great on layout (irrespective of scale) especially an exhibition layout which would draw some attention from the spectators.

Cheers
Hi Andrian, funny you should mention the "Lord of the Rails" BR187, it was never on my radar as there are so many other locos that I need to find first but last month I got to photograph this locomotive at Mainz Hbf and I've been looking for one ever since but it would appear that it was a popular model as there are none to be found.
And here it is, the new Piko LTE BR 187 "Lord of the Rails" (AC)

Hi Pantograf,

Nice to see the Gimli variant of the Traxx AC3 owned by LTE. Apparently LTE now have a third AC3 in their fleet with Legolas and a wagon with a log load. I wonder if they add more AC3s to their fleet they will continue the Tolkien theme.

Cheers
Hello Andrian, I haven't seen the movie so I'm not familiar with the characters but I would say that Piko picked the best image of the 3 that adorn the full size BR187s' sides. The model itself is right up to the latest Piko quality standards in and out. I'm very happy with it.
Hi Pantograf,

It is definetely the more colourful one so far compared to the Gandalf one. Here is a link to LTE's third one which I believe was delivered in March this year.

Cheers
