QUOTE (TheAndrian @ 2 May 2019, 07:09) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi Pantograf,

It is definetely the more colourful one so far compared to the Gandalf one. Here is a link to LTE's third one which I believe was delivered in March this year.

Cheers
Hi Andrian, that's funny, I've been following Railcolor for about 2 years now and occasionally contribute as well. It's a great resource to stay current on all European and some North American locomotive news and trends.

Hi Pantograf,

Yes the SBB panorama coaches with the Gotthard logo have been of interest to me lately too in N (Minitrix have released a three coach set recently and there will be a single coach to be released at a later date this year). Funnily enough I'd like to get the older colour scheme of the panorama coaches along with the ordinary Apm, Bpm by Minitrix and a Wrm so that I can put together the Transalpin train EC162/163 from around 2004 to 2010; unfortunately I have to track these down on Ebay since they have been OOP (out of print) for some time. I have the panorama Apm, ordinary Apm and Bpm in the more recent vibrant SBB EC colour scheme.

Cheers

Vectron locomotive 193 813-3 built by Siemens Mobility in 2014 and delivered to Railpool in the same year has an interesting history considering its brief service life. After spending time with many different European operators like WLC, SETG, RTB Cargo, EP Cargo, HSL Logistik, Lokomotion, EVB and TX Logistik, it ended up with BTE BahnTouristikExpress in 2018 and in 2019 it received the bright green Flixtrain livery for the Köln â€" Hamburg route. The BTE (RDC) - Flixmobility partnership came to an end after a disagreement in April of 2020 so most likely, this locomotive was stripped of its Flixtrain wrap and it might be back in white now.

In order to expand and "modernize" their fleet in 2014, the Czech Railways decided to purchase 12 IC/EC coaches from OBB who were also in the process of upgrading their passenger fleet with the Siemens built Viaggio Comfort RailJet train sets and selling off some of their nearly 40 year old "Eurofima" 1./2. class coaches built by SGP Simmering, Austria in the late '70s. In 2017, CD purchased additional 2. class and Couchette coaches, some of which still have their original OBB livery to this day.

Here is another Railpool Vectron but unlike the Flixtrain Vectron posted above, this one's livery is quite plain in silver with the usual Railpool blue stripe.Â

What makes this loco interesting is the digital destination sign at each end just below the windshield and where this and four other similar units are being used. This locomotive was built and delivered to Railpool in 2012 and like other lease locos it moved around Europe while working for a number of rail cargo operators including WLC out of Vienna and SETG from Salzburg.

In 2017 it was hired along with the other four Railpool Vectrons to DB Regio to be used by the BayernBahn on a regional express service between Nuremberg and Sonneberg with part of the trip running along the recently (2017) completed high speed line between Ebensfeld and Erfurt. The best part is the unique consist where there are 5 double-decker wagons sandwiched between two of these Vectrons running at 2-hour intervals and reaching speeds of up to 200km/h.

Here comes.... another Vectron, this time it's the MRCE "Connecting Europe" Vectron AC 193 875-2 that was built and delivered to MRCE in 2014. It received the eye-catching wrap with photos of European landmarks in the same year and it's still wearing it today. The model depicts the locomotive's brief period (October 2014 - May 2015) when it served under the Transpetrol banner which began right after it's appearance at the 2014 Innotrans in Berlin.

The next model is special to me as I purchased it at Spielwaren Heiss on the same day as I photographed the 1/1 (different road number) at the Innsbruck Hbf. It's one of the OBB 'Taurus 3' locos designated for service in Italy with its own Italian road number. At some point in late 2018 - early 2019, the flag was removed and loco 1216 014 was wrapped in the standard OBB Railjet livery. The flag and web address were also removed from 1216 011.

I had posted this next model more than 2 years ago and back then I wrote that the only thing that would make it better would be to see the actual loco up close. Well, not too long after that post I did get to see the 1/1 loco with my own eyes at Salzburg Hbf so here are some fresh pics. The Lokomotion Vectron MS 193 773-9 was built in 2017 and received the full wrap in the summer of the same year.

Here's another electric loco from Roco and surprisingly enough it's another Vectron MS.
This time it's one of the 108 Vectrons recently purchased by and delivered to the OBB. This particular loco (OBB 1293 003-0) was part of the first batch built in 2018 with the international package A/D/I/H/CZ/PL/SK/HR/SLO and can operate at speeds of up to 200km/h.

Next up is a RegioJet Vectron 193 227-6 by Roco. RegioJet started out as a private Czech bus company called the "Student Agency" which eventually grew and expanded its operations to include passenger rail service. With the rapid growth of new destinations and increasing numbers of passengers, the company signed two separate contracts to lease 8 Siemens Vectron locos in 2014. Five were long-term leases from ELL (A) and 3 locos came from Lokotrain (CZ), those were returned when the then new Traxx MS2 locos went into service. Loco 193 227-6 was built and delivered to ELL in 2015 and for a few months operated under the SBB Cargo banner. It was handed over to RegioJet at the end of that year. The wrap in the pictures was replaced in 2019, advertising a new movie yet to be released.
