Actually treat to self was two ESU loksound chips from Richard at DCC concepts, I thought they were taking a while to arrive but poor Richard lost all that he was sending to the UK as the post van caught fire
Yes of course my chips were on-board
Still Richard has packed them up again and sending via kangeroo mail) so there is half a chance presents to self may just arrive by Xmas Eve after all
.

If not, then the 4MT I have ordered for a sound project won't get done over the festive period and I was looking forward to that.

To be honest, apart from the box shifters I doubt it - margins are tight enough as it is. "Old" stock will appear to be much cheaper than "new" stock with the pound being a tad low at the moment.

QUOTE Do you drop hints or would you rather just buy what you want?

We just surf and point.

I got home today to be told I'd broken her credit card. Apparently my Christmas present was "an out of character" purchase so the card got switched off. Of course the card company don't bother to tell you, you just wonder why some online transactions don't go through. At least she got a letter in the post this morning. I have just stopped a second card because they kept switching it off

Know what you mean about cards. I've just had to cut up my Mastercard for the second time this year as it had been 'compromised'. Someone had got hold of the number and had tried to purchase air tickets and other goodies to the tune of almost £5,000. Luckily my bank picked up on it and blocked the attempted fraud.

However, in consequence, I am now without an active card so any last minute purchases are out.

Hopefully my daughter has picked up on my wish list and got me the Lyddle End Coaling Stage I have been hoping for.

*** I'm very pleased to confirm that Mike emailed me and he did indeed get his decoders this Tuesday morning, so well done EMS airmail for getting them there before the Santa deadline...

No no to EMS, it was all you Richard, you were as good as your word and you can be assured of much future business from this geek :) I have just placed some information which may be useful to anyone attempting a sound project for teh Deltic which supports your own great thread.

Take care (DCC Concepts work for me)

And
brought me...

A new test track for the s-d b 'technical facility', replacing a yard of Peco code 55 and a pp3 9volt battery!

...and the Bach/Farish 04 and Hampton Hill Signal Box, to which I have already taken a razor saw to adapt the low retaining walls (I like playing with my new toys Christmas morning
- those railings could do with replacing though
).

Seasons Greetings

nobody rung wrote or called Christmas Day but i spent a good part of it running some of my locos which have sat in the box too long after at last completing a line without having to stop the locos ........ i would have got something up and running no problems a lot sooner if i hadnt been
waylaid converting British locos and stock.
Like the 04 Steamdriven boy they really are smooth little runners

A bit late adding to this thread, but some of us had to work all over christmas so haven't had time to add my additions from the big red suited fellow (and Brian you can play that violin for me too!)

A lovely A3 was the loco I wasn't expecting from Arethusa, cheers bro
Namely White Knight

From the wife, some Presision Lables coach sides for the Thanet Belle that I got the donor coaches for last christmas (and yes I am a slow modeller)

From my sister I got a Modelex controller, and another one from the old dear & pops

All in all a good year

now time to get down to some modelling (after tiding up the garage first) anyone know when the warm weather will be returning?

A few weeks away from work to rest and catch up on modelling would be welcome.

I have to fit in bouts of modelling between assignments in places where I use modelling as an escape from the situation, unfortunately I am no longer able to take modelling material with me, so I take a good book (Southern Wagons Part 4) to some very unsafe places.

This year finds me on duty, bags packed, jabs in date and passport ready, the rotation ends on the 7th, so hopefully a quiet patch?

Tim

BTW, the releases from Hornby were a great Chrimbo Pressie.
