R8215 aquired all I need is a diagram to solder the chip please.

Hi energize,
Welcome to the forum, if you can tell us the maker of the loco and scale it would help more.
That'll be the Hornby one - for a really straight forward guide to DCC wiring you only have to look as far as the resources on this forum!

If you are going to the trouble of hard-wiring it in I would take the R8215 back and ask them nicely to swap it for an R8249 - same price but much better chip. The early R8215s were not too good, later ones were somewhat better.
If it was a simple plug in install I would give it a go as is and see how it fared.

Just hard wired (soft soldered) the R8215 in a piece of P155 and working fine. 4th one soldered this year.
