Hi I am having a problem with my coach couplings. I have been building this layout as I have now retired. The coaches in my stock are all rtr airfix, mainline, bachmann, and hornby all collected over the last 30 years. Most of the coaches were derailing. A check was made of the track by myself and a pro track layer - no problems. A check was made of the couplings all seemed okay. So I expermented by taking the springs out, ran better but still some derailing, oiled the bogies much betting going forward but still problems when pushing stock whatever speed. Any ideas please
After checking all the back to backs make sure that the bogies are pivoting correctly & are not fowling anything - BTW - what couplings are you using ?

If memory serves me right we are talking about coaches with at least four different couplings. It is possible that the different types are not moving together properly thus causing lateral displacement and resulting in derailment.
